Absence Management Limited
Absence Management Ltd take a different approach to absence management, unlike other providers their approach to absence management is much more proactive than reactive leading to the prevention of absence before it occurs thus saving you substantial sums of money and inconvenience.
The usual approach in this area is to provide training in the form of absence management to supervisors and managers dealing with issues such as return to work interviews, disciplinarys and absence monitoring. In addition there is often considerable occupational health involvement that is unconclusive.
Whilst Absence Management Ltd believe that training and occupational health involvement are important (and indeed are part of our solution) they are essentially reactive tools. For example, a return to work interview may prevent a future absence but has not prevented the absence just taken.
Here are a list of steps that they take to solve your absence problems
- They review employees contractual obligations with regard to contact whilst off sick, initial contact on the first day of sickness, eligibility for sick pay, how sickness operates within the disciplinary procedure and occupational health provision
- They, along with your management, review absence data and benchmark it, establishing problem employees and areas. Then if appropriate advise on ways of measuring and showing data to the workforce.
- All identified employees are contacted in a particular way and an individual absence review is carried out. An action plan is agreed using a variety of tools that is both relevant for persistent short term absentees and those with longer term problems. At this stage along with the relevant manager or HR representative they conduct the interview
- In tandem with the above they design and implement a training plan so as to ensure not just the skills are available to you staff but also that there is consistency of expectation and commitment to managing absence across your business. (This relates back to the first point )
- Supervisory and management reviews are introduced.
- Dependent on progress, they agree with you how often you require follow up when dealing with difficult cases and assisting with the reviews.
