The correct management of annual leave can hugely affect productivity. Office control will reduce this cost to your business by streamlining the process from start to finish and present to you clear information throughout.

A traditional system of requesting annual leave often involves a number of steps. Firstly the employee must print the request form, or collect it, find out how much entitlement they have available, complete the form and transfer it to their manager for approval.

The manager then reviews the request by checking staffing/knowledge levels and activities planned for that period (e.g. sales events, marketing campaigns etc) and authorizes as appropriate. Complications arise when the manager has little time to review the situation properly or the manager is absent themselves. This often leads to poorly applied absence policies and reduced business effectiveness at the time of absence.

The completed form must then be taken to the person/department who records the approved request (sometimes the manager), which is most often a large spreadsheet or wall planner with coloured stickers. Both of these tend to be generally unavailable by most employees and difficult to read.
